So I am a Deaf Studies major and I work a lot with mentally challenged and handy-capable people. Some of the arguments have come up regarding guide/sight/hearing and working dogs. There seemed to be a divide in this particular gathering at campus (keep in mind, there are varying degrees of handy-capableness and capabilities, along with their aids):
